Bring your yard
back into the picture.

A new lawn should fit the property around it. We look at the area to be covered, the existing ground and how the lawn meets your planting beds, paving and other features.

We’ll define the preparation and installation work, then talk through watering and care so you know what to expect after the sod goes down.

  • New lawn installations
  • Existing lawn replacement
  • Selected areas & lawn repairs
  • Sod within complete landscape projects
Choose the grass. Then plan the lawn.

Two sod options.
Let’s find your fit.

Sunlight, everyday use and your watering plan help guide the choice. We’ll walk through the options with you before your sod is ordered.

01 / The classic lawn

Kentucky
Bluegrass

Lakeside Premium Kentucky Bluegrass

A familiar choice for a dense, green lawn with a medium-to-fine leaf texture. Kentucky bluegrass spreads through underground stems, helping established turf fill in and recover from wear.

  • Best suited to open, sunny areas.
  • A good option when a traditional lawn appearance is the priority.
  • May become dormant during extended heat or dry weather.
02 / Resilience for everyday use

Barenbrug RTF®
with HGT®

Rhizomatous tall fescue + Kentucky bluegrass

Lakeside’s RTF option combines rhizomatous tall fescue with HGT Kentucky bluegrass. Once established, its deep root system supports heat and drought tolerance, while spreading growth helps it recover from wear.

  • Worth discussing for an active yard or a site with some shade.
  • Underground stems help fill thin or worn areas over time.
  • Needs watering to establish, plus ongoing care after rooting.

Fresh grass.
Careful preparation.

This newly laid lawn is part of the same pool-area project shown above. Visible seams mark the fresh installation while the surrounding landscape work continues.

Sod gives you grass coverage right away, but it still needs time and care to root into the prepared soil.

Before we get started

A few helpful answers.

Which sod types can I choose from?

We offer Kentucky Bluegrass and Barenbrug RTF options sourced through Lakeside Sod Supply. Lakeside currently lists its RTF sod with HGT Kentucky bluegrass. We’ll confirm the specific product and availability when we prepare your estimate.

Does drought-tolerant sod still need watering?

Yes. Heat and drought tolerance describe established turf; they do not mean a water-free lawn. Newly installed sod needs watering while it roots. We’ll discuss a care plan for your installation and the conditions at your property.

Can you replace an existing lawn?

Yes. We can review the lawn and define the removal, preparation and sod installation needed for the areas you want replaced.

Is sod ready for normal use right away?

Keep normal foot traffic off the new sod until it is well rooted. Timing depends on weather and site conditions. We’ll discuss watering, mowing and when to begin using your lawn.

Do I need permanent irrigation?

The new sod needs reliable watering. We can discuss your watering arrangements and, if you want a permanent system, coordinate irrigation with the installation.

Should I choose sod or seed?

We’ll discuss your site, timing, budget and care plan. Visit our lawn installation page for the other lawn installation option.
